MARAMA was launched in 2019 and was birthed from of one of our Matana founding members and Event Management and Marketing Director Emele Tuinona who identified the gap and need in our community to celebrate our Fijian women and what it means to be a Marama.

Many of us attest to being strongly influenced by our maternal lines and we at Matana acknowledge and celebrate our Fijian women at our MARAMA event.

MARAMA is an opportunity to contribute towards and add value to our culture within our community to connect, celebrate, engage, and inspire the Fijian women of tomorrow.

Our MARAMA event provides a platform for inspiring Fijian women of our community to share about their journeys professionally and personally to inspire other women of our community. This is done through an event showcasing our talents, arts and crafts, promoting community business, traditional dance and storytelling via a panel and talanoa.
